ABOUT WATER SAFETY DAY
Washington Water Safety Day was created in 2024 with the passing of House Bill 1750, also known as Yori’s Law, by the Washington State legislature. It is observed annually on May 15 to raise awareness around drowning prevention and water safety education.
Because May 15 falls on a weekday this year, we will be hosting this community-focused event on Saturday, May 16, 2026, allowing for greater public participation and engagement.
